Index to Births, Deaths, and Marriages
as published in Campbell County, Wyoming Newspapers

The library retains microfilm of various Campbell County newspapers from 1892 to the present. The reference department staff has indexed these newspapers with a specific focus on genealogical information including births, marriage announcements, divorces and obituaries.

Also indexed are major News-Record articles from 1988-2001 which can be searched by the Reference staff upon request. The news indexing was stopped after the establishment of the Gillette News-Record web site in December 2001, which features its own searchable archive.

The Campbell County newspapers used to create the genealogy indexes are:

  • Campbell County Record (June 1918 -April 1925) - abbreviated CCR.
  • Gillette News (January 1892 - November 1926) - abbreviated GN
  • Gillette News-Record (April 1926 - 2006) - abbreviated NR
